Check out Salao, a fantastic stop-motion piece by KCAI classmate and voice of the Postmaster (Bird’s Boss) Neil Morrissey.

Hey guys!  I’m gonna start doing Shortfilm Sunday along with bird-and-fish!  Reblogging other films from our KCAI classmates!

Neil Morrissey also not only provided the voice for Mephistopheles, but ad-libbed/wrote a lot of the more hilarious lines, helping develop the character into what ya’ll saw in my film.

Without further ado, the completed short.

Two boys cross their societal boundaries and fall in love. In time, they change each other, and eventually, their divided world.

Cosmonaut - By Mike Kelly and Mike Kearns

A tired, thirst-driven Cosmonaut and his mischievous, chimpanzee co-pilot are stranded in the desert, having been days since the initial landing. After their only hope of rescue is destroyed, a chase into the desert reveals what seems to be relief in the badlands, only leading to mind alteration and disaster.

This is our senior grade animation for 2013, made at the Kansas City Art Institute. We made this in about 4 1/2 months with TVPaint, Photoshop and After Effects.
